HigherEdJobs is seeking a detail oriented and creative person to join our marketing team as our Marketing Assistant. Working with the Marketing Manager and President, and with assistance from the Administrative Assistant, the goal of the position is to help execute the company's efforts to enhance our brand, increase quality website traffic, and generate sales.

The ideal applicant for this position is extremely organized and possesses strong communication skills and a high level of initiative. In this role you must have a keen attention to detail, but also possess the ability to see the big picture to effectively coordinate, plan, and execute a variety of marketing initiatives and campaigns in support of the company's marketing goals.

Specific Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

Creative Execution
Assist with creation of marketing collateral and make recommendations for website edits.

Social Media
Responsible for day-to-day management of HigherEdJobs' presence on social media groups including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

Ad Placement/Evaluation
Implement the company's advertising plan and work with the Marketing Manager to monitor effectiveness and adjust as necessary to achieve strategic objectives.

Newsletter/Mass Email Execution
Edit and execute company communications including newsletters, mass emails, and other marketing communication pieces.


Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or a similar field

2+ years of marketing experience

Fundamental understanding of traditional and digital marketing practices and marketing performance measurement and analytic tools

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage sometimes multiple and differing tasks

Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience writing/self-editing punchy, grammatically correct, highly engaging statuses, tweets, captions, emails, etc.

Basic knowledge of Google Analytics; Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, and Twitter; and Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop
